Juneteenth Festival at the MLK Community Center

On June 19 th , during this special day for the celebration of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated holiday for the end of slavery in the United States, an amazing event was hosted to benefit two non-profits in our community: One Man's Treasure and Attitudes & Attires.

Radio stations Boom 94.5 and 97.9 The Beat and Miles of Freedom came together with the mission to organize and host a very successful clothing drive at the MLK Community Center, located in Dallas, Texas.

For those who aren't familiar with Attitudes & Attires, it is a non-profit agency that seeks to promote personal growth among women seeking self-sufficiency. With the help of the partnership and the City of Dallas, this event helped One Man's Treasure and Attitudes & Attires meet even more of their clothing needs by collecting clothing donations from individuals throughout the month before the Juneteenth celebration. A special thanks goes out to Richard Miles, Miles of Freedom, and the radio stations 97.9 and 94.5 for hosting this amazing event.

You missed the event, but want to be a part of our mission? We have ongoing needs for our program all year long. You can help by directly donating money online through our website or making a donation of gently used or new men's washable shirts & pants, shoes, ties, and clothes.
